Once you select a PC, you’ll be in Big Picture Mode, streamed from the PC itself. On the controller side of things, two pair methods work for Retropie perfectly but Steamlink needed D-Input apparently (which I found out by searching on here now that I could get that far).If you want to customize the Steam Link settings, you’ll need to select “Settings” on the main screen here. Had to delete this directory and reinstall Steamlink Latest version of Retropie - Have upgraded multiple times recently both OS and Retropie.Ĭonfirmed my Android phone can connect to Steamlink on my PC with no issuesĬonfirmed I can strem from PC to Laptop so appears to be something with my Pi installation. I had also originally installed it outside of Retropie to test it in a standalone environment so I am not sure if that added dependencies that the Retropie image is not liking but I am not sure how to check or remove any dependencies if that is the case. To troubleshoot the controller issue I had remved Steam Link and reinstalled it and that is where it went from launching the application to only getting to a black screen.

I am curious if it is the pair mode I used, but cannot get to this point any further due to the unresponsive screen. I have an 8bitdo controller (SNES Pro) which I have used for several months on both the Pi 4 and 3B+ with no issue but originally Steam Link would not recognize the controller existed. The Pi 4 isn't frozen, I can SSH in and do everything as normal, it just appears to be the port itself. I launch Steam Link from ports and it goes to either a black screen with a mouse cursor or black screen with a steam logo and just sits there. I know this is n experimental package so I do not expect a solution but wanted to try.

I have two issues, one of which is keeping me from troubleshooting the original issue. A few months agao I decided to install the latest image of Retropie on my Pi 4 since I saw good results with steam link and wanted to hve everything on my Pi4 and retire my Pi 3B for some other projects. I used steam link on the Pi 4 while I used my Pi 3B+ a while back.
